crushing

My mind has been buzzing for weeks.
What am I thinking about so lustfully?
This chair.
As I build my foundation of home decor, I've been sticking to furniture and main pieces that are neutral in color, allowing me to accessorize with bright patterns and colors for each season.
But this...this breaks every mold. I saw it on Pinterest and just found it again via Kelly Green. She hit the nail on the head. I have a huge crush on this chair!

Clothes Like Furniture

I love this motto, mainly because half of my closet is still from high school or passed down from my mom or older sisters. My mom always taught me to buy classic pieces; buying lower in quantity and higher in quality. I'd like to think they're aging with me, 5-10 years later! No wonder so many of my jeans are getting holes in them!

I also love J.Crew's appreciation for dressing wildly colorful like a box of crayons. If I were to have a coined style, that would be it. Elegantly classic, and wildly colorful like a box of crayons. It just tickles me pink ;)

Ivy Inspiration

I was finally able to check out Ivy & Piper's Spring Fashion Issue. Below are screenshots of my favorite pages - their images never fail to inspire!

I love how these images are eclectic yet still so chic. The bursts of color are so refreshing!

Maybe I think you're cute and funny..

I was browsing the beautiful Nicole's me oh my! and discovered a tour of her bedroom. My jaw dropped when I saw the above images. I've always wanted a statue of an old head and shoulders (why does that sound so creepy, haha, and why can't I think of it's actual term?). Her DIY's are so clever yet so doable! I always appreciate a fan of Ingrid Michaelson, and I always write down lyrics and post them around my room/office (via post-it, naturally), why not turn them into eclectic and romantic decor?! I can't wait to try them both for my new apartment. And I can't wait to see the look on Michael's face when I ask to trace him :)

You Melon Knob!

I feel like that would've been my favorite insult in 3rd grade. andd probably still in high school. Obviously very insulting, but I have to stay true to my "Comeback Queen" title. Insults like these made me an easy target for teasing, and my response was always similar to Chris Farley's in Tommy Boy, mumbling and stuttering followed by a ....shut up, Richard! Charming, I know.

Whether its providing your favorite comeback or favorite colorful hardware, Anthropologie never fails.

Ruggers

My cousin just got a puppy named Ruggers, and you should know by now that I'm a lover of all dogs, but these ruggers are cuter than his ;) Sorry cousin J, thank you, Anthro!

Distant Voyage

So it turns out I'm not legally blind but I'm still riding on an Anthro-high, and right now I'm swooning over this quilt. I will fall asleep tonight dreaming of it in my awesome new apartment (also a dream). It's definitely an investment in comparison to other comforters, but I feel like it'd last a lifetime, and you just can't put a price on that, right!?
Yikes.

Dear Decorator

I just discovered heaven. in an e-mail from Anthropologie. The subject should have been: "Dear (wannabe) Decorator, contents will make your wildest dreams come true." It probably should've also included a warning label-I spent wayy too long exhausting every category and every image, keeping me up way past my bedtime. And I think my eyesight decreased from a -6 to a -8 after this little obsession session....do you think that makes me legally blind? I blame Anthropologie. Then maybe they'll fund this freak fest.

Stay tuned - many category favorites to come!

Live in the Sunshine

Thanks to the lovely Colleen at Inspired to Share, I discovered these awesome letterpress cards from Studio on Fire. At this rate my future home is going to be filled with framings of artistic words to live by. I love it :)

If you haven't seen it already, check out Colleen's blog (it has polka dots and it's adorable), and Studio on Fire is filled with great prints!

the Power of a Thought

"Change your thoughts and you change your world."
-Norman Vincent Peale

A few months ago I found a calendar filled with beautifully eclectic photos and inspiring messages like this one. Needless to say I was counting down to the New Year just so I could bring life to my work cubicle! And the message couldn't have better timing. Never underestimate the power of positivity.

Most of these images will probably be framed and hung in my future apartment, I can't wait to share each month with you!

She's Done It Again

I'm a huge fan of Katie Armour from the Neo-Traditionalist, and without any surprise her desk has been published due to its innate way of being fantastic. Her desk is now a celebrity, and she is still wonderful too :)

Bookworm Beauty

The bookworm in me cannot wait for my own apartment, simply so I can create a beautiful bookshelf and coffee table. There is something so magical and mysterious about getting lost in the world of a book, why not surround yourself with the beauty??

Aren't the colors amazing?! I can't get enough of the last two photos!

Urban Wishes. (Santa, please note).

One of my girlfriends took me to Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago, a store I always seem to forget...probably because its older prettier sister, Anthropologie, has swept me off my feet. But ever since our little reunion I can't get enough of their interior accents (or their prices!). My mind has shifted away from clothes and onto design...think I'm ready for my own place again? ;)
