Floatin'

"So tell me, what will you do with your one wild and precious life?"

Have a happy (and healthy!) weekend!

"Aachooo!"

After weeks of fighting, my immune system has finally caved. As a result I sound like the Godfather, and my skin tone has changed to a frightening pale with a seasonally appropriate red nose. So I am spending my day off snuggled in bed and hiding from the outside world, as there is no way to feel presentable with the cold flu. Naturally this leads me to think of comfy clothes and my obsession with pajama sets. Though I don't own one (for fear of feeling either 5 or 50 years old), I think it's time to stop obsessing and start purchasing...

I love the sets from J.Crew, especially the shirt dress. It looks like you're wearing your Mr.'s
button-up to bed, and who doesn't love falling asleep surrounded by that scent!

My favorites are the PJ sets from Vicki's! The cotton thermals would be wonderful on a day like today, and I still remember how they felt when wearing them..probably at age 5. Of course the VS Angels could make a paper bag look sexy, but would you wear these? Someday I will treat myself and buy all 5 pairs...it will keep me young at heart :)

Urban Wishes. (Santa, please note).

One of my girlfriends took me to Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago, a store I always seem to forget...probably because its older prettier sister, Anthropologie, has swept me off my feet. But ever since our little reunion I can't get enough of their interior accents (or their prices!). My mind has shifted away from clothes and onto design...think I'm ready for my own place again? ;)

Spring Throwbacks

I'm new to the world of online magazines so please bare with me if this is old news to you, but I just discovered the wonderful Ivy & Piper. I'm hoping a new issue is quickly on its way, but here's what I love from spring... (and please ignore my amateur screen shots).

I adore the combination of various blues and reds/corals! From the silver bird and beads (and do I spy our favorite little blue box?), to the vases, silhouettes, and the teal dragons (where can I get my hands on those!?)..I just love it all. I can't wait to see what's next!

The White Blanket

Snow has come in Wisconsin! How fitting that it arrives on the first of December. It's just starting to accumulate, a light dusting in comparison to what lies ahead, but I'm excited!
Here's to the new season!

If those pictures made you cold, I hope this one warms you up. No matter what my day is like, everything is perfect when I end it like this:

Dramatic in the face of transition

I've been employed now for nearly an entire week...which makes me a seasoned professional, obviously. And I must say that I can't believe it's already Thursday, let alone December! I look back on my week and all I recall is making my lunch (funny and slightly reassuring how that childhood fear of forgetting your lunch comes back to you age 22), finding something to wear and going to work. Working. It takes over your life! I honestly thought that once I joined the schedule and routine of the "real world," I would have all kinds of time to work out, read, blog and do all kinds of other activities. Even cook a real dinner! I now realize that is just dumb.

I get home from work and I am lost of all motivation. By the time get I home and get settled, there are only a few hours before I have to rest and repeat the whole thing! Dinner? I have to make that? Tomorrow's outfit? What happened to sweatpants in college? And packing a lunch!? Am I 5?! And that is just the daily routine, what about the rest of your LIFE?!
My parents find this all hilarious. "Wait until you have kids!" ...Seriously world, how do we do it?! No wonder Starbucks is on every corner, how else could society operate without coffee!?
Needless to say, entering the workforce has been an entertaining transition, and I now have much more respect for every person on this planet that maintains a life in addition to a career. I'm obviously being dramatic, but I have a lot to learn!
