Corey picked this past weekend to surprise us so she could attend the annual ball for Community Memorial Hospital. My grandpa was a doctor there for many years and helped co-found the hospital, so it's really important to him that everyone attends. Last year's ball was our final event as a family before she left, so her timing was perfect! Only Michael and my aunt knew she was coming home, so the surprises (and tears) were endless! It still doesn't even seem real that she's with us. It's like she's "just a mirage!" (If you remember that line from the movie Fifel Goes West, you get a gold star!) Despite all of the emotion, we stayed true to our family ways by owning the dance floor, one black tie event at a time.
