Hootie Hoo

Owls are everywhere lately and I can't get enough of this adorable owl family by Estate Eclectic's Etsy shop!
and then they introduced this lil fella..
and now I'll be on the prowl for adorable old umbrellas to fill my future owl friend and his family. Until that day in the future, I will drool...and hoot in anticipation.

Hootie Hoo, homies.

Estate Eclectic is one of my new favorite blogs and I basically just copied their entire post, it's so adorable! Check them out if they're new to you too!

Maybe I think you're cute and funny..

I was browsing the beautiful Nicole's me oh my! and discovered a tour of her bedroom. My jaw dropped when I saw the above images. I've always wanted a statue of an old head and shoulders (why does that sound so creepy, haha, and why can't I think of it's actual term?). Her DIY's are so clever yet so doable! I always appreciate a fan of Ingrid Michaelson, and I always write down lyrics and post them around my room/office (via post-it, naturally), why not turn them into eclectic and romantic decor?! I can't wait to try them both for my new apartment. And I can't wait to see the look on Michael's face when I ask to trace him :)

Currently Craving: Fish & Foo Foo's

I keep acquiring decor for my new apartment and it sits sadly in storage at my parent's house. When my move-in date comes within reach, I will purchase. Until then, I will gawk and drool.

You Melon Knob!

I feel like that would've been my favorite insult in 3rd grade. andd probably still in high school. Obviously very insulting, but I have to stay true to my "Comeback Queen" title. Insults like these made me an easy target for teasing, and my response was always similar to Chris Farley's in Tommy Boy, mumbling and stuttering followed by a ....shut up, Richard! Charming, I know.

Whether its providing your favorite comeback or favorite colorful hardware, Anthropologie never fails.

Ruggers

My cousin just got a puppy named Ruggers, and you should know by now that I'm a lover of all dogs, but these ruggers are cuter than his ;) Sorry cousin J, thank you, Anthro!

Distant Voyage

So it turns out I'm not legally blind but I'm still riding on an Anthro-high, and right now I'm swooning over this quilt. I will fall asleep tonight dreaming of it in my awesome new apartment (also a dream). It's definitely an investment in comparison to other comforters, but I feel like it'd last a lifetime, and you just can't put a price on that, right!?
Yikes.

Dear Decorator

I just discovered heaven. in an e-mail from Anthropologie. The subject should have been: "Dear (wannabe) Decorator, contents will make your wildest dreams come true." It probably should've also included a warning label-I spent wayy too long exhausting every category and every image, keeping me up way past my bedtime. And I think my eyesight decreased from a -6 to a -8 after this little obsession session....do you think that makes me legally blind? I blame Anthropologie. Then maybe they'll fund this freak fest.

Stay tuned - many category favorites to come!

And so this is Christmas.

Last week my parents' house went under complete transformation! They brought home a tree and we spent the night decorating, listening to our favorite holiday music (The Boss, and Michael Buble, just to name a few) and missing my sisters like crazy, as one is across the state and the other is in Ecuador with the Peace Corps (naturally we put her picture in the middle of the tree). Living at home has it's struggles, but the excitement for Christmas was too strong for any thing to get in the way. I love this house, and I swear my mom would decorate a tree solely with icicles and snowflakes if she could (no complaints). Despite the obvious void of my sisters, it was a perfect Tuesday night!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

The department stores have put on their holiday masks. Macy's was filled with beautiful trees covered in big red bows! For the first time in awhile, I am embracing it whole-heartedly. Usually I like to wait until after Thanksgiving, but this year I am so ready for Christmas music in the first week of November. Woohoo!
The November issue of Pottery Barn came in the mail today and I got so excited to see these:

Living with my parents is wonderful right now and they do a fantastic job of decorating, but I can't wait until I have a place of my own to cover with holiday cheer!
Doesn't the 2nd photo remind you of the house on Home Alone?
