'round my hometown
I have to give a shout-out to some amazing talent from my hometown.
Get ready to be serenaded by Christian Luthi.
My girlfriends and I used to ooo and ahh at his lead roles in the high school musicals.
Yeah...we were those girls. and he didn't even go to our immediate school. Haha! Oh, high school.
He plays the guitar, his voice is silky smooth, and he has Wisconsin charm - what more could you want!?
He moved down to Nashville and its only a matter of time before he's big stuff.
Show him some love. He's been on repeat in my apartment allll day :)
Sounds like: John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Brett Dennen

no can do
I've had this song stuck in my head for weeks. When youtubing the original Hall & Oates version (which has a pretty rad video - they're just glowing!), I came across this cover and now I'm stuck on this adorable band-in-transit. I'm personally a huge fan of the kazoo.

straight from the airport
This song kept me up past my bedtime last night.
A solo dance party suddenly sounded much more appealing than getting some extra zzz's.
Plus, my sister is coming home today for a 3 week visit from Ecuador :)

On your back with your racks as the stacks as your load
It's past 8 and the sun is only beginning to set in Wisconsin, but the cold and windy temps make it a night perfect for Bon Iver.
Can't wait for this long weekend ahead! Hope you're all able to relax and enjoy!

Get a bloody move on!
I'm finally getting back to the gym today after months of hiatus! Watching this video makes me think I should just listen to this song and mimic their workout plan...minus the vom.

Come on show 'em what you're worth
I first heard this song on a very discouraging day with my job search. I was feeling pretty worthless and just wanted so badly to find my niche, and for someone, some great company to need me! After cranking this in my car, I was immediately uplifted and well, ready to dance. And now after watching this music video I love the song even more - it can speak to everyone!

Speak Now
I drank the kool-aid.
Among a million other girls, I downloaded the new Taylor Swift CD, Speak Now. I've generally been a Taylor fan from the very beginning - she's kind of just contagious, so I've been anxious to see what she has to share next. And she definitely shared it all.
You have to admire her boldness and slight lack of filter for some of these songs. She's a brave girl for wearing her heart, and every thought on her sleeve, but part of me felt like she should have sent these songs, more-so personal messages, privately through the mail - they are just that specific and intimate.
At first I got annoyed and thought it was immature for her to throw her relationships out to the public and bash half of Hollywood. I was even able to make a game out of listening and guessing which celebrity she was referring to. But I must admit that these songs are growing on me, as I listen to the album for the third time, haha. Music always amazes me that way!
Favorites: Mine, Sparks Fly, Speak Now, Dear John, Mean ...ok I guess I really like this... :)
And no need to guess which celebrities she's singing about, she'll tell you all about it in this interview!

Coolest kids in town
This video is awesome! I'm always so impressed by mash-ups, especially when they're of my favorite songs, and I'm just impressed by singers and guitar players in general, so this is an especially exciting video. Plus the singer reminds me of a skinny version of Jacob from Twilight, so it makes me giggle. Nerd alert! Enjoy!

Just fly one time
I love that music is an acquired taste. A song may be good the first time you hear it, but the more you listen, the more amazing it gets.
Ben Harper's "Fly One Time" is definitely one of those songs.
The lyrics are so fitting to our current place in life - we're all looking to go on to new crazy places, with one foot out the door and one foot still strongly planted behind. The lyrics and the music video are so inspiring - go get your dreams!
