Hey Chicago Whadya Say!?

Cubs aren't even in season today, so sorry.

How was everyone's New Years?!
We returned from Chicago wanting to sleep for days! It was a wonderful weekend away, with a surplus of adventures and not nearly enough pictures. Probably because I'm a camera-killer and my trusty iPhone cam doesn't have quite the oomph that I'm looking for. But despite these dreary photos, it was GORGEOUS out! By gorgeous I mean above 50 degrees in December, which is unheard of. So we were waltzing around the city without the soundtrack of our teeth chattering, and without me plastered to Michael (my walking furnace) to keep warm. We tried the Sears Tower (now Willis Tower, but I'm not one for change) to adventure up into the glass box with glass flooring (how scary would that be?!) but the doorman kindly informed us that visibility was Zero. I loved his honesty.
So we continued our waltz through the park en route to the Shedd Aquarium to continue our touristy day, and giggled as the rain started to become a downpour.
It was indeed babushka weather. Thank you, pashmina.
We made it to the aquarium, came over the hill and noticed the line, a half mile long. The downpour became torrential andddd we ran to a cab. Hooray for Walgreens (saving me from the rain again) that sells $5 umbrellas, and places like Pizanos that serve amazing Chicago deep dish pizza. Despite our failed tourist attempts, it was the perfect afternoon :)

We had rain, we had train delays, we missed our train entirely, we had failed tourist attempts, we had sold out bars that didn't have us on the list (what!?, you didn't know we were in town!?) and we had no idea where we were going, but we had each other (awww), we had the perfect dinner, we had a dance floor, we had a new year, and we had a wonderful time :)

andd the Packers beat the Bears last night! woohooo!

Happy New Year everyone!
